Phone, absentee and e-mail bids will also be accepted. Serious collectors of fine art by 20th-century masters need to mark their calendars for this auction,. These are wonderful works by famous artists.

Works by Salvador Dali (1904-1989) include a pair of lithographs done in 1966 and based on the “Our Father” prayer found in Matthew 6:7-13. One is titled Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread and the other Amen. Both are original color lithographs on wove paper and signed and dated in the stone. The dimensions of each are identical, too: 13 inches by 15-7/8 inches. Both are in excellent condition.

Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) will be represented by two works. The first, executed circa 1939, is a signed linocut titled Pigeonneau (The Young Pigeon). A linocut is a variation on a woodcut in which a sheet of linoleum, mounted on a wood block, is used for the relief surface on watercolor paper. The other work is an unsigned original 24-color lithograph from 1961 titled Picadores I. Both are excellent.

Offerings by Marc Chagall (1887-1985) include a biblical-themed original color lithograph titled The Garden of Eden (I) (circa 1960, 10-7/16 inches by 13-15/16 inches); and a circus-themed color lithograph on arches wove paper titled Le Cirque Lithographe (circa 1957, 25-14 inches by 16-1/4 inches). Both of these unsigned lithographs exhibit outstanding vibrant and brilliant colors.

Also slated to cross the block on Nov. 8 will be works of art by the following noted artists:
* Joan Miro (Spanish, 1893-1983) – Miro was born in Barcelona and earned international acclaim for his abstract curvilinear design paintings, collages and murals. His work is mostly Surrealistic. Miro despised conventional painting methods and once famously declared an “assassination of painting.”

* Pierre Bonnard (French, 1867-1947) – Bonnard is best known for his intense use of color. His complex compositions often depicted sunlit interiors of rooms and gardens, populated with friends and family members. He also painted self-portraits, landscapes, and still lifes of flowers and fruit.

* Maurice de Vlaminck (French, 1876-1958) – Along with Andre Derain and Henri Matisse, Vlaminck is considered one of the leading figures in the Fauve movement (a group of artists who, from 1904 to 1908, were united in their intense use of color). He also was a poet and violinist.
